Swimming Exercises For A Toned Stomach
Swimming laps using your desired swimming stroke can help you achieve a toned stomach. Each and every stroke makes use of different muscles in different ways. Having a toned stomach also entails a well-toned body. The most commonly used swimming strokes are the breast, butterfly, and back strokes.
One other good swimming pool exercise for a toned stomach is by water walking. While trying to maintain your back as straight as possible, walk across the shallow part of the pool by lifting the knee up towards your chest. Try your best to contract those abs each time you lift your knee upwards to your chest.
Another good stomach toning exercise is doing leg lifts at the deeper portion of the swimming pool. Anchor yourself at one of the walls of the pool at the same time making sure that your head is comfortably positioned above the water. Start lifting one leg up to your chest at a time. If you want to really exercise the muscles in your abdomen, try alternating between each leg lift as fast as you possibly can.
Continuously tread water at the deep portion of the pool for at least one minute. This exercise should be done continuously but resting for one minute between each set is allowed. The stomach muscles become toned if they are kept tight every time a water treading routine is performed, which also helps give the entire body a wonderful workout.
Be sure that the swimming pool has been properly cleaned prior to your swimming and doing an exercise routine. If the pool water is dirty then it is not worth exercising in. Pool chemicals is one manner of keeping the swimming pool clean.
The pool becomes clean after it has been decontaminated using swimming pool chemicals. Chlorine is commonly used as a swimming pool chemical disinfectant and purifier. Public swimming pools use hypochlorous acid while private swimming pools use sodium hypochlorite, both of which are different forms of chlorine. Whether you are using sodium hypochlorite or hypochlorous acid the important thing to keep in mind is that these swimming pool chemical products should be stored under lock and key.
