Skin Cream Ingredients Can Do More Harm Than Good!
Having dry skin is the bain of women everywhere. This is especially true if you must spend a lot of time outdoors. Some of us just don’t have the time for the extra skin care that is needed to fight the condition. A moisturizing skin care routine is essential, and your choice of skin cream can make or break your efforts.
The single most important thing to keep in mind when shopping for skin care products is cravat emptor (buyer beware!). The quality of any skin cream will be determined by it’s ingredients. Some products, even the high-priced brand name products, contain things that are actually bad for dry skin.
If your skin cream has any kind of alcohol listed on the label, get rid of it and start over! Alcohol will strip moisture from your skin and make your condition worse.
Never purchase a skin care cream because it “smells good”. Creams that add fragrance will likely contain other useless fillers, as well.
Beware of skin creams that contain derivatives of natural products. Dioxane, which is artificially derived from coconut cream, is a perfect example. There are anecdotal reports of people that have used a product containing contracting all kinds of skin problems.
Skin care products that contain essences should also not be used. Essences are actually man-made copies of the natural things that they are the essence of (ie: essence of coconut cream). “Extracts”, on the other hand, are made from the real thing, so, use products with extracts instead.
